Cookie Policy
We keep cookies to a minimum. This page explains the few essential cookies our website needs to work securely, the one optional cookie we use only with your consent, and how to change your choice at any time.
Draft: this policy is pending legal review and will be finalized before launch.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in much the same way. In this policy, "cookies" covers both.
Our approach
The Africa Awaits You website is operated by Travel Ease Company LLC. We use only the cookies we need to run the website securely, plus one optional first-party cookie that helps us understand how visitors find us. We don't use advertising cookies, we don't allow third-party advertising trackers or social media tracking pixels on our website, and we don't sell your information.
Essential cookies (always active)
These cookies are necessary for the website to work and to protect it from abuse. Because they are strictly necessary, they don't require your consent, but you can block them in your browser settings (some features may then stop working).
- Your cookie choice. Remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies, so we don't ask you on every page.
- Your currency preference. Remembers the display currency you choose (for example U.S. dollars, British pounds, Canadian dollars, Australian dollars or euros) so prices appear in that currency as you browse.
- Security and spam protection. Our trip planner uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that submissions come from people rather than automated bots. Turnstile may use cookies or similar technologies strictly for this check and processes technical information about your browser and device. Cloudflare's own privacy policy explains how it handles this information.
- Team sign-in (staff only). Members of our team who sign in to our private content management area receive a sign-in cookie. Public visitors to the website don't receive it.
Optional cookies (only with your consent)
- Attribution cookie (first-party). If you accept optional cookies, we store a first-party cookie that remembers the page you first arrived on, the website that referred you and any campaign parameters in the link you followed (such as utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign). If you later submit a trip request, this information is attached to it, so we understand which pages and campaigns help travelers find us.
This cookie is set only after you accept. It is not shared with advertising networks, and we don't use it to track you across other websites. If you decline, nothing is stored and the website works exactly the same.
Changing your choice
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie settings option on our website, or by deleting cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers also let you block cookies altogether. If you block essential cookies, features such as your currency preference or the trip planner's security check may not work properly.
Changes to this policy
If we ever add a new type of cookie, we'll update this page, and we'll ask for your consent before using any new optional cookies.
